Your First Therapy Session
Before your session begins a qualified massage therapist will bring you into the therapy room to ask you some general questions as he/she reviews your medical history. Your therapist will also ask you about problems areas or injuries that are bothering you. This information is gathered so the therapist can custom tailor your massage therapy needs for the therapy session.
Once the therapist has reviewed your records and finished asking you questions its time for therapy to begin. All therapy is done in a private and comfortable relaxing room. The therapist will ask you to undress to the degree that is comfortable for you. If you do not wish to undress please wear loose comfortable clothing. The therapist will leave the room for a few minutes while you undress and get under the sheets. The massage table is padded and heated for your comfort. You will be covered by a sheet or blanket during the entire session. The therapist will only remove the sheet or blanket form the area being worked. This is to insure respect and modesty at all times.
Once the massage therapist returns your session will begin. It is best to communicate with the therapist if something is painful or hurts in any way. This will provide your therapist with valuable information for treatment and treatment procedures. It is best to relax during your session and only talk when you need to communicate important information with the therapist.
